Rochester police continue to investigate a late afternoon shooting. It happened outside the Costa Sur Grocery and Take-Out store on the corner of Avenue A and Hollenbeck Street Thursday.

Swim Coach Arrested for Pursuing Student (R News)

Police arrested a local high school diving coach they say pursued a romantic relationship with a female student. Gates police charged Michael Bond, 25, with endangering the welfare of a child. An investigator said Bond continuously pursued a romantic relationship with the girl for more than a month.

VA Secretary Visits Canandaigua (R News)

The head of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs toured the Canandaigua VA Thursday. VA Secretary James Peake says the main point for his visit was to check out the VA’s veterans suicide hotline.

Mobile Communication Unit Debuts (R News)

Emergency agencies in Monroe County and the City of Rochester have a new communications tool. A mobile communications unit will be taken to where an emergency or incident is taking place and provide live real time pictures and sound for emergency personnel.

Sodus Woman Faces Animal Cruelty Charges (R News)

The Wayne County Sheriff's Department announced the arrest of a Sodus woman on animal cruelty charges. Sheila Bastian, 45, faces 12 counts of animal cruelty and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
